High Falls . . . Gladys Monteen McLemore Wiley passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at First Baptist Church of High Falls with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeff Giddens and Rev. Jack Gatlin will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Wiley, the daughter of the late Jessie Leon McLemore and Linnie Hall McLemore, was born October 15, 1921, in Colquitt County, Georgia. Her sons, Owen Ray Burch and Jimmy Adams and her sister, Lenora Price preceded her in death. She retired from Monroe County Board of Education as a dietitian. Mrs. Wiley was a charter member of First Baptist Church of High Falls, a member of Eastern Star and a member of AARP.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Dalton “Bo” Wiley, Sr. of Milledgeville; daughter, Mary Adams of High Falls; step-children, Dalton (Ilene) Wiley of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Bruce (Pat) Wiley of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Angela McAtee and Christina McAtee; and three great grandchildren, Owen Phagan, Pharis Phagan and Halee McAtee.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church of High Falls, 4408 High Falls Road, Jackson, GA 30233.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
