Donald Edward Phillips

Macon . . . Donald Edward Phillips, 68, of Macon GA. passed away on November 5, 2015, after an extended illness.  Donald, the son of the late Julius E. Phillips and Lina H. Phillips was born March 26, 1947, in Charleston, SC. He was of the Catholic faith, a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a retired electrician with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company in Macon GA.  He enjoyed being outdoors, liked fishing, planting a huge garden each spring, and was an avid bird watcher. Donald also liked spending time with his elderly rescue dog, Grandmother.  Donald is survived by his wife, Nancy Savage Phillips; son, Christopher E. Phillips; stepchildren, Misty Lynn Mayo, Donald Joe Mayo and Brandi Ellen Mayo; and nine grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Post Office Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or to the Disabled Veterans of America, 4493 Houston Avenue, Macon, GA 31206.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.  Services and burial will be private.Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
