Griffin . . . The world has lost a beautiful lady today as Betty Z. Roberts Rowe passed away on November 5, 2011. She was a longtime resident of Griffin, Georgia. She is survived by her son Lee and Judy Roberts of Forsyth, grandchildren, Dustin and Jennifer Roberts of Forsyth, Kim and Steve Wood of Acworth, and Chasity and Frank Newton of Forsyth, several great grandchildren and one name sake great great grand child, Ivy Elizabeth Roberts, two brothers, Al and Cindy Ziegler of Chester, South Carolina and James and Kemper Ziegler of Columbia, South Carolina, along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Born on July 5, 1930 and raised in Estill, South Carolina. She was predeceased in death by her parents Herman and Hilda Ziegler. She was a faithful member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church in Griffin. Mrs. Rowe was retired from the University System of Georgia at the Experiment Station in Griffin, having served as personal assistants to several directors of the facility. Services will be held at Rock Springs Church in Milner, Georgia on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery. Dr. Benny Tate and Reverend David Sanders will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2011, at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 West McIntosh Road, Griffin, Georgia. Friends may contact the family at the home of her son Lee Roberts at 114 West Johnston Street, Forsyth, Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Rock Springs Free Medical Clinic at Rock Springs Church, 219 Rock Springs Road, Milner, GA 30257. Monroe County Memorial Chapel in Forsyth, Georgia has charge of arrangements.
