George Vernon O’Neal

Forsyth . . . George Vernon O’Neal died Thursday, January 5, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Forsyth City Cemetery. Dr. Dan Whitaker and Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. O’Neal, the son of the late Charlie Urban and Vallie Dora O’Neal was born June 13, 1920, in Forsyth, Georgia. He was retired from Forsyth Milk Haulers and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, having served during World War II, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. O’Neal attended First Baptist Church. Survivors include his sister, Clyde O’Neal Bowdoin of Forsyth, several nieces and nephews. The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, c/o First Baptist Church, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029 Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
