Forsyth . . . Ethel Irene Brown died Thursday, January 19, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Reverend Jay Moore will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Brown, the daughter of the late James Pleasant Neal and Mary Ethel Hornsby Hilyer, was born May 30, 1938, in Forsyth, Georgia. Her son, James Everett McTyre preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Brown of Forsyth, children, Joel M. Lucas of Forsyth and Bobby D. Cole of Roswell, brother, Charles Bowman of Atlanta, sisters Mabel Ivey of Newnan, Tommie Hames of Newnan, Nellie Johnston of Lithia Springs and Joy Pope of Marietta, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
