Franklin D. Smith

Bolingbroke . . . Franklin D. Smith died Thursday, April 19, 2012. Memorial services and burial will be private. The family may be contacted at the residence 56 Harrison Drive, Bolingbroke, Georgia.

Mr. Smith, the son of the late Emory Smith was born December 30, 1932, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. His daughter Deborah Lynn Smith preceded him in death. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Smith was a republican activist and also enjoyed riding scooters.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Norma “Kitty” Smith of Bolingbroke, children, Marcus Smith of Macon, Rebecca Sockabasin of Bangor, Maine, Robyn Smith of Princeton, Maine and Kitty “Sue” Millican of Summerfield, Georgia, brother, Delbert Smith of Massachusetts, four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
